Convincing Your Children Father Christmas Has VisitedWith the modern age of instant gratification, the internet, etc. it seems like children are finding out Father Christmas isn’t real much earlier than they had done previously. So if we can’t keep our children as innocent as possible for as long as possible, we should make the best of it while it lasts. So to help out with those magical Christmases, here’s a few techniques you can use to convince your kids Santa Claus did in fact visit while they were sleeping Christmas gifts:
When Christmas Eve rolls around, you can put out some food and drink for Santa and his animals. A simple classic would be a mince pie, a carrot for Rudolf and either a glass or milk or a glass or brandy. Then once your children are fast asleep, don’t forget to take a bite or two of the food to make it look as though Santa saw them. Your kids will be incredibly happy to see that Santa has visited and enjoyed the food they left out for him.
This next little tip is a fantastic way of gettig a good response from your children; leaving white footprints in the same room as either your chimney or your presents. Icing sugar is an excellent choice to use, and looks just like snow covered footprints. Leave them throughout the house, but particularly near the chimney, to the Xmas presents and back again. Then just wait until Christmas morning and enjoy the look of pure joy and excitement on your childrens’ faces.
The next one might seem like a simple thing to do, but it’s often overlooked by parents. Although you might want to sign most of the presents from ‘mum and dad’ (which is fair enough if you’ve spend a lot of money), if there’s a few Christmas stocking fillers or smaller gifts, you should sign them ‘Merry Christmas, from Santa’. Then tell your children you know nothing about them. This will please your kids no end and will keep the magic of Christmas alive for them for that little bit longer.
