Babies’ Sleep Schedule

Babies’ Sleep Schedule
The more your baby sleeps, the more your baby will want to sleep. Does this make any sense to you? Many of you do not realize this, but babies have a tendency to suffer from what is called fatigue induced anxiety. Fatigue induced anxiety is what babies get when they are over tired. Hence the reason sleeping more causes your baby to want to sleep. When you are over tired, how does this affect you? You will be exhausted, which makes it harder for you to relax and it feels almost impossible for you to go to sleep – this is the same feature with your baby. If your baby stays awake for too long, then he or she is going to have problems with sleeping.

You will need to watch your baby so that you can detect what the sleeping patterns are. Clearly, with many babies, it seems being awake for an hour and thirty minutes is their limit (this is with newborns). You will be able to feed your baby, change your baby, put her/him on the play mat for a little bit of play time, and have some tummy time to strengthen the baby, then cuddle and sleep. You will be able to tell when your baby is tired because they will start to make little frizzling sounds, balling the fists up and making weird faces. When this time has come, it is time to swaddle up your baby, make him/her nice and comfortable and prepare for sleepy time. As your baby grows, the awaken periods are going to become longer. When the sleeping periods become longer, this means the sleeping periods will become longer for the parents and the baby.
